Director’s Statement
Making Habitat was a direct response to conversations I was having with loved ones around the start of the pandemic. There was a grim acceptance of death and susceptibility to the worst case scenario within each of those phone calls. I tried to capture that melancholic quality in the film, while still holding close the consideration of what these notions could mean.

This project was also a rediscovery of filmmaking at its fundamental level. Due to restrictions, I had to find ways in which to shoot with next to no assistance and zero budget.

This film was created during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and adhered to all social distancing measures and regulations.
